Here's What I Think

Biblical teaching instructs us to "honor" marriage. Marjorie and I have been married for 42 years. We have tried to "honor" that relationship. Each of our three children are married and in each case we have tried to "honor" their marriage in a Christian church. As a Christian minister I have officiated many wedding ceremonies, and in each case, gave careful instruction to the newlyweds as to how they could honor their marriage.

I would like to express my profound appreciation to Representative John Hostetter (R.-IND.) for all he is doing on behalf of honoring the traditional, biblical marriage that so many of us embrace.

Representative John Hostettler wants to protect the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which authorizes states not to recognize same-sex "marriages" contracted in other states. Under the Constitution, Congress has the power to pass laws limited the jurisdiction of the federal courts, thus trumping the ability of liberal federal judges to advance their social and cultural agendas from the bench. His, Marriage Protection Act will do just that.

Thank you Representative Hostettler for not only representing the fine citizens of Indiana, but the rest of us who want to see traditional marriage "honored".
